License

Two licenses. Both let you edit the workbook, keep backups and share the reports it produces. Neither lets you pass the editable file to another business.

The workbook is identical for both. The prices below are for the Client Profitability Tracker. The license terms are also in the license file in your download.

Single-business · US$49

For one business or sole trader, and everyone who works in it: staff and contractors.

Allowed

• Use the workbook for your own business's planning, pricing, delivery review and management reporting.
• Edit and extend the workbook for that business.
• Keep backup copies for that business.
• Share reports and results with your team, clients, advisers and board.

Not allowed

• Using it for a second business, including a related company, subsidiary or separate brand run as its own business.
• Giving an editable copy to a client or anyone outside the business.
• Reselling it or posting it online.

Tracking your own clients is exactly what the Single-business license is for. You need Agency/Team only if you keep a working copy for another business's own figures.

Agency/Team · US$99

For an agency and everyone who works in it, covering up to 5 client businesses.

Allowed

• Everything in Single-business, for your agency.
• Separate working copies for up to 5 client businesses you manage, as long as you keep the file and send them the results. A related business or brand in your own group counts as one of the 5.
• When you stop working with a client, you can delete their copy and use that place for another client. The limit is 5 client businesses at any one time.

Not allowed

• Giving clients or anyone outside your agency an editable copy.
• Reselling it, or including it in a product, course or template library.

Full license terms

These terms apply to every Metricvalley template bought from metricvalley.com or our Payhip store, from Sep 30, 2026. The terms in your download and shown before checkout govern your purchase. Where this page and the license file in your download differ, whichever gives you more rights applies.

1. Who the terms are between

The terms are between you and Metricvalley, the operator of metricvalley.com. Metricvalley is operated by an Australian sole trader trading as Metricvalley; the seller's details are in our terms. "You" means the business that bought the license. "The workbook" means the template files, the worked example and the guides in your download, including any updates you receive.

2. What "one business" means

One business means the purchasing business or sole-trader operation. A separate client, subsidiary, affiliate or unrelated entity is a different business and needs its own license, unless it is one of the client businesses covered by an Agency/Team license, or we agree otherwise in writing.

Everyone who works in the business is covered, including employees and contractors, while they are working for it.

3. What you may do

After a valid purchase, you may:

• download and keep the workbook and guides;
• make reasonable backup copies;
• use, edit and extend the workbook for your business's own planning, pricing, delivery review and management reporting; and
• share reports, exports and other results produced from your own data with your employees, contractors, clients, advisers or board as part of your normal work.

Sharing a result does not share the license.

With an Agency/Team license, you may also keep separate working copies of the workbook for up to 5 client businesses at any one time, where your agency keeps and operates the file and sends the client the results.

4. What you may not do

You must not:

• resell, rent, sublicense, share or redistribute the workbook or guides, whether original or modified;
• post the workbook online, or place it in a public or shared template library or download collection;
• give an editable copy to another business, including a client;
• package the workbook, or a modified version, into a template, product, course or service for others; or
• transfer your license to another business, affiliate, client or buyer without our written permission.

5. Ownership

Metricvalley owns the copyright in the workbook, its design and the guides. The license gives you the right to use them; it does not transfer ownership. Your data, and the reports you produce from it, belong to you.

6. Updates

Every buyer gets free updates to the 2.x line of the product they bought, delivered through the Payhip download link for their purchase. This includes buyers of version 1.x.

The Google Sheets edition of the Client Profitability Tracker is included free for every buyer when it ships. It is covered by the same license tier you bought.

A future major version (3.0.0 or later) may be sold separately. Versions you have already received are yours to keep using, and your license for them does not expire.

7. What the workbook is and is not

The workbook is a calculation and management template for internal business use. It does not provide accounting, tax, legal, financial or other professional advice. It does not promise a particular margin, saving or result. Contribution is calculated before overhead and is not net profit, accounting profit or cash flow.

Exchange rates are entered by you. The workbook does not supply or check market rates.

The worked example contains demo records only and must not be presented as customer data or a real business result.

Compatibility is limited to the environments marked "tested" on the compatibility page for your version.

8. Ending the license

If you receive a refund, your license ends and we ask you to delete your copies.

If you break these terms, your license ends. You must then stop using the workbook and delete your copies.

9. Your rights under consumer law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law, or any other law, that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or changed. Our 30-day money-back guarantee is in addition to those rights.
