Compatibility

  • Where our templates are tested Which spreadsheet apps each release has been tested in, with version and date. Every environment is marked "tested" or "not yet tested". "Probably works" is never listed as compatible.

Frequently asked questions

Read the FAQ for answers about contribution, Excel versions, currencies, the Google Sheets edition, licenses, updates, refunds and support.

Three quick answers:

  • Which file do I open? The file ending in -blank.xlsx. Keep the -worked-example.xlsx file as a reference.
  • Which cells do I type in? Yellow cells: you type. Leave every other cell to the workbook.
  • What does "Review" mean? A row with a missing detail, a duplicate or a missing exchange rate. It stays visible and is left out of the totals until you fix it.

We reply to every message within 1 business day. Business days are Monday to Friday, Australian Eastern time. A message sent on a Friday afternoon in the US arrives on Saturday in Australia, so expect a reply by the end of Monday, Australian Eastern time.

To get a useful answer on the first reply, include:

  1. The template and version. In version 1.x the version is in the file name (for example v1.1.0-rc1). From version 2.0.0 it is on the Start Here sheet.
  2. Your Excel version and build, from File > Account > About Excel (Windows) or Excel > About Excel (Mac).
  3. The sheet and row, what you expected and what you saw.

Send demo or redacted data only. Leave out payment details, passwords and real client records.

Included: help getting the workbook working as described, and fixes for anything that doesn't. Not included: custom setup, importing your data, redesigning formulas, or accounting and tax advice.
